Are You A Candidate For Surgery?

 

Listed below are the criteria for surgery. These criteria are established and respected by all Bariatric Surgery Centers in the USA..

 

1.  BMI of 40 or more. Patients with BMI less that 40 are considered candidates if they suffer from other medical problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, etc.. You can calculate your BMI by clicking on BMI Calculator.

2.  Absence of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and psychosis.

3.  Previous failure of non-surgical approach for weight control such as diet and or behavioral modification.

4.      Age above 18 years old.

5.      Commitments to postoperative behavioral changes and close monitoring.
